To arrange a quotation the first step is to contact us. 99.9% of all quotations we perform are in home visits. We are not a fan of video surveys. For many, many reasons. Should you be moving back into the area from a far distance away we will then conduct a video survey. However we will email a ‘how to’ guide. Then, when you’re booked in with us don’t be surprised if we do suddenly wish to visit. Just to confirm we have it correct (not to change the price!).

Video surveys cannot possibly convey all the information a moving company needs. Accurate assessments of furniture size, doorway sizes and access + much more are only accurately ascertained in person.

Besides which, face to face communication is completely different.

Yes! With this being important. We will provide a box count at the time of survey. We will then deliver the correct number of boxes for your home well in advance of moving (upon your request in fact). The boxes we supply are bespoke to us, and are proper moving boxes. Please don’t be buying cheap moving boxes online. Ours' cost us more than ‘moving boxes’ can be bought for online. There’s a reason for that!

Oh, and they’ll come with quality tape.

There is no simple, straight forward ‘black’n’white’ answer for this. Anybody that says otherwise is either fibbing, or doesn’t understand conveyancing. The entire process is a collaboration. Constant contact and us both working together to find out when you’re likely to be moving. We’re here, by phone, email and whatsapp. We’re on the journey together.

Yes. Of course. However, we strongly recommend that if there are things you know you might wish to access, you tell your crew to leave them at the front. A storage unit may be packed 15ft deep, and 10ft high. You do not pay us to waste space that you’re paying for! It’s not easy finding a random object inside a huge, 3D jigsaw puzzle.

Nothing in life comes for free. Or at least nothing worth paying for does…. We have made many social posts, podcasts and blogs on this topic. There’s a reason you’ll end up with zero meaningful insurance for damages. And you absolutely will not be having a professional mover arrive.

Besides which, you’ll end up (from what we have seen) paying for a unit three times too big.

Like we said, nothing in this life comes for free.

We’ve been in storage a long time. Since 1998 in fact. Sure, you can chase for any and every customer. Or you can keep a tighter control.

Fun Fact! The last time we had a random check by authorities (think arriving one morning to a team with sniffer dogs who tell you they’re having a free reign over your facility for a couple of hours), they found…….nothing.

Perhaps more importantly they advised us they couldn’t quite believe they’d found nothing. As apparently it’s quite normal that they do.

We’d like to keep it that way.

Yes. Everything we sell has been extensively tried and tested by us. Boxes, Furniture covers, packing materials, tape. Everything. Tested over thousands of home moves.

The short, slightly arrogant answer is ‘higher standards’. The longer, more accurate answer is as follows:

Social media groups for the industry are full of requests for ‘porter assistance’. In short, finding any ‘bodies’ available to move people. Firms with no proper full-time employees finding people to go and move customers. That is not us.

Everybody here is proper full-time. This means a full year round contracted position. What this means for you is greater skill, and greater responsibility. Moreover, greater liability for the outcome. Running this way is cost pressure number 1. We are almost unique. This is expensive. But worth it.

Our standards and our vehicles.

Look carefully at other firms vehicles. Then look at ours. You’re not going to find them grubby, filthy or quite literally held together with cable ties and duct tape.

The materials on our vehicles are renewed almost weekly. We are not using covers populated with another persons, dog, cat or body hair to cover your possessions. We literally throw away materials we are not happy with. Many firms are running round with 15 year old transit covers and transit bags, that yesterday were used on somebody else’s sofa covered with dog hair – just a shame you’re allergic….

Insurance

Our level of cover exceeds most other firms by a factor of 4. No joke. There are many firms operating a level of cover that wouldn’t cover for most people just the content in their kitchen.

Premises and facilities.

We are a full scale, professional mover. Operating from professional premises. Operating a fleet larger than we can staff. Why? Because us calling you to say we’re not turning up, due to a vehicle breakdown, is of no use to you.

We are correctly resourced. With everything we could possibly need to ensure your move goes well, on hand, and ready.
