Understanding the Logos

When gathering quotations for your move, you’ll see a lot of different logos - you’ll speak to a lot of companies who bombard you with the importance of various images on their literature. We may not be members of the RHA (the Road Haulage Association), but that’s because it has literally NOTHING to do with Home Moving.

We are in fact members of Logistics UK….but you don’t need to know that as it isn’t relevant to moving home or office!

Don’t be hoodwinked. The logos that matter are the ones below…

Logo of the British Association of Removers featuring a map of the UK with red countries on a blue background, and a purple and green CTSI Approved Code logo with text 'TradingStandards.uk'

British Association of Removers (BAR)

BAR membership is a trusted mark of quality for home movers. Accredited companies meet strict standards for service, training, insurance, and complaints—giving you confidence that your move is in safe, professional hands. Their Code of Practice is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, offering added protection and peace of mind.

Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI)

CTSI helps protect consumers and promote fair business across the UK. Its approved code logos—like the one used by BAR-accredited movers—show that a company meets high standards for honesty, safety, and customer service. CTSI also works to tackle scams and unsafe practices, ensuring businesses operate ethically and customers are treated fairly.

BAR Advanced Payment Guarantee

This logo means your advance payment is protected when you book with a BAR-accredited mover. If the company goes out of business before your move, the BAR Advanced Payment Guarantee ensures you won’t lose your money. It’s an extra layer of financial security—automatically included with BAR membership—that gives you confidence and peace of mind when planning your move.

Logo for Ohio Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman, with a purple square containing an outline of a house and the letters 'fhi' inside.

Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman (FHIO)

This logo shows that the company is a member of the independent, government-approved Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman. It means customers have free access to a fair, impartial dispute resolution service if something goes wrong. FHIO membership also signals a commitment to high standards, transparency, and consumer protection—giving you added confidence when choosing who to trust with your home.
