Choosing a Storage Unit
What size storage unit do I need?
The size of storage unit you need depends on the volume of items you’re storing and how they’re packed. As a general rule, smaller units are suitable for your average loft or shed contents, a single room worth of items, or boxes of stock/files. Larger units are more suited to full home removals, or particularly large pieces of furniture, or if you’d rather spread your belongings out, or stock, for sorting through, rather than stacking compactly. Our online storage portal provides size guidance, and our team can help if you’re unsure which option is best.
Are all of your units 10ft high?
Yes, all of our self-storage units are 10ft high, allowing you to make better use of vertical space when stacking items.
Can I change my storage unit size later?
Yes, you can change your storage unit size if your needs change, subject to availability. We can usually help you move to a more suitable unit if needed.
Using Self Storage
Is self-storage suitable for businesses?
Yes, our storage units are commonly used by businesses for stock, files, tools, equipment, documents and overflow storage.
Can I use storage short-term or long-term?
Yes, you can use storage for both short-term and long-term needs, depending on your situation. Our minimum storage period is just two weeks.
What items are commonly stored in self-storage?
Common items stored in self-storage include furniture, household belongings, business stock, equipment, and boxed items.
Why don’t you do free moves into store like other self store operators?
Free moves into storage are often built into the cost elsewhere, and may not include the same level of service, insurance, or planning as a professional removal.
Nothing in life comes for free. There’s a reason there offers often come with limited insurance or less experienced crews. From what we’ve seen, customers can end up paying for a unit that’s far larger than they actually need.
We prefer to do things properly from the start.
Booking & Managing Storage
How do I book a self-storage unit?
You can book a self-storage unit online through our secure storage portal, where you can check availability and reserve a unit straight away.
Or of course, you can visit us in person!
Who do I contact if I need help with my storage?
If you need help with your storage, you can contact our team by phone, email or WhatsApp. We’re happy to help.
Why don’t you open 24 hours a day?
We don’t operate 24-hour access because controlled opening hours allow us to maintain higher security, better oversight, and safer storage for our customers’ belongings.
We’ve been in storage a long time. Since 1998 in fact. You can chase every customer….or you can keep tighter control.
Fun Fact: The last time we had a random inspection, they found…..nothing.
In fact, they told us that’s unusual.
We’d like to keep it that way.
Storage as an M&G Moving customer
Can I access my possessions when they are in storage?
Yes. Of course. However, we strongly recommend that if there are things you know you might wish to access, you tell your crew to leave them at the front. A storage unit may be packed 15ft deep, and 10ft high. You do not pay us to waste space that you’re paying for! It’s not easy finding a random object inside a huge, 3D jigsaw puzzle.
